To our valued members, vendors, and friends:

I hope this message finds you and yours safe, healthy, and keeping positive. As your new Orlando Claims Association President, my foremost wish is that I have something to preside over in the next year. I will avoid too much talk of the current environment; we hear enough as it is.

We have an exciting new board structure, which was voted in by several of our past Presidents. Jim Robert has consented to remain on as Secretary, while Abe Hanze has moved into the role of Vice President. As a new addition, our very own Mike Cote has joined as Treasurer.

As a general update: in January, the OCA cut ties with the Hilton Altamonte, as holding a monthly meeting simply no longer made sense. With that said, once things return to a sense of normalcy, we plan to have a few larger CE meetings scattered throughout the year (if you are interested in hosting one of these events, or teaching a class, please reach out!).

Currently, our annual CE cookoff is still scheduled for November. We are also still planning a holiday party in lieu of our formal gala. Truthfully, I am not entirely sure if these events will actually take place in 2020. All we can do is continue to move forward, knowing that if they end up taking place in 2021, that’s OK!

Like all organizations in the current climate, the OCA has not been immune to the financial hardships of 2020. We humbly thank you for your continued support in the form of sponsorships and donations, so that these events can take place.

In the meantime, the OCA remains ever supportive of the claims community and our associates, both on a local and national scale. We will be starting to better utilize and monitor the job postings section of our website, so if you are hiring, please submit any details to Brittany Cherrix.

Be well, and thank you for pushing us onward and upward.

Sarah Cavanaugh

A "Go Fund Me" page has been created for Diane. Monies raised for Diane will go directly to her to help cover medical expenses and the needs of the Mummaw family. Your support, in any form, is incredibly appreciated and extraordinarily helpful.

Please share this "Go Fund Me" link with your family, friends, colleagues and post on your Facebook and LinkedIn page so that we can assist Diane with her future medical expenses.

Thank you and PLEASE continue to keep Diane and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
